Basic Beekeeping 2012 will take place at the Essex County Environmental Center, Garibaldi Hall, 621 Eagle Rock Avenue in Roseland, NJ on February 18 and March 3, 2012, with a snow date of March 17 and a hands-on Field Day in April (date TBA)

Tuition is $90, which includes class materials, a continental breakfast and afternoon snack both class days. Landi Simone is the class coordinator and primary instructor. Segments are taught by members of the Essex County Beekeepers Society and by Tim Schuler, the NJ State Apiarist.

Interested in getting started in bees? Taking a good class is critical. Bees are not like keeping chickens or goats. Without a good knowledge base you will almost certainly kill your bees. To register for the ECBS Basic Beekeeping Course, visit the Education link at www.njbeekeepers.org.
